Nothing Really Matters So

DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY

Think of something in life you’ve always wanted to do but felt like you didn’t have the time, like nobody would care, that you wouldn’t be good enough, that no one would buy into your idea… you get the picture. For me, it was starting my own brand.

Two years ago I was incredibly unhappy stuck in the 9 to 5 “hamster wheel” rut, always exhausted, and constantly daydreaming about traveling but depressed that I was only given two weeks a year to do it. I lived for the weekend but was usually too drained to enjoy it and knew something had to change. And in order to REALLY change anything, it had to be drastic. The next day I quit my job, moved to another state a couple weeks later where I didn’t know a soul, had no plan whatsoever and figured out a way to make my dreams a reality.

That dream of starting a brand stuck in my head and on a whim of inspiration Stop Waiting For Friday was born. Was I ready to launch? Probably not. Was I still afraid no one would care? Hell yes. Did I know if it was going to work? Nope. But I decided to just go for it, put it out there & START. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in life it’s that no one really cares what you’re doing and people are going to judge you no matter what so you might as well do what makes you happy.

In the last year I learned to skateboard and made a complete idiot of myself. I tried snowboarding for the first time in 15 years and ate sh*t the entire way down. I learned to box and sucked at first but slowly got better. Did anyone care? Not really. Did I die of embarrassment? No. Did I get made fun of? Okay maybe a little.

I was actually having so much fun that I completely stopped caring about what people thought.

I was finally doing the things I’ve always wanted to do but used to make excuses as to why I couldn’t. I stopped waiting and said eff it… FULL SEND. I stopped waiting for the weekend to be happy and started creating my own happiness through these simple things that brought me joy.

My only goal with this is to inspire others to do the same. To take risks, to live for the now, to do the things you’ve always wanted to do, unapologetically, full force, big yolo vibezzz. If you ever feel embarrassed to try something new, just know that I’m probably eating sh*t on a skateboard somewhere. Life is short so let’s do the damn thing.
